Dr Morgan’s Retirement

Dear Patients,

It is with regret that we announce our Senior Partner, Dr Michael Morgan will be retiring on the 1st October 2020. He has been a partner at the Practice for 33 years since the Burdwood Surgery first opened in 1987 after completing 11 years as a medical student and junior doctor. During these 33 years and in addition to his practice role, Dr Morgan is the School Medical Officer to Downe House School, the Medical Referee to West Berkshire Crematorium, the surgery Care Quality Commission Registered Manager and until recently worked for the WestCall NHS GP Out Of Hours service and over the years he developed special interests in diabetes, minor surgery and joint injections.

Dr Morgan’s retirement will be a time of change for both patients and staff, and we have already been preparing and working carefully towards a smooth transition for our patients. In the coming weeks patients of Dr Morgan will be notified of their new usual GP. We have over 10,000 patients here at the Burdwood Surgery and although every patient has a usual GP – you are free to see any Doctor.

We would like to wish Dr Morgan the very best in his well-earned retirement, where he plans to continue living locally and will remain active in the community as well as spending more time with his family.
